Liberation Through Poetry

Hello writers and readers! My name is Micah Hill. The main objective in starting the journey of writing is to understand vice, struggle, and, the human condition, and the goal of this web blog is to share ideas, understand the nuance of the Black and Brown, understand the intersectionality of color and class struggle—most importantly showcasing brilliance outside of the status quo.

As the founder and creator of this platform, Micah Hill to me is more than just a name: It is a logo, it is what allows me to use my voice to influence perspective. Poetry is a way of life, and passion is why we live. For me, poetry is an outlet for emotion and a facilitator for finding my voice. As a high school student, it is of the utmost importance that I represent a new generation of dissenters; a man who stands for nothing has no true foundation and lacks passion—this is my why for choosing to be outspoken.

Attached to the right are 3 of my favorite pieces as they best represent my mission.

Life itself isn’t so cynical; sometimes we just have to change our perspective and view it from a higher ground.
