today, i lost hope.

the hope that made me believe that anything in this country was achievable.

are we progressing or going backwards as a nation?

if a white man with 34 felonies, a past of misconduct, and a hateful agenda can still defeat a qualified Black woman.

where the message of "Make America Great Again" comes out the same mouths of those who spread bigotry

xenophobia

homophobia

racism

and misogyny.

where marginalized groups of people feel unheard, disrespected, and disregarded?

does the God i serve represent the hate that i see?

the ideals that they claim are of him?

am i foolish for having hope that this time, we would win?

for believing that love and decency would prevail?

so stupid minded.

my father always told me that we have to work twice as hard just to get half as far

but if i work 4 times harder

and am miles more qualified is that even enough?

white privilege
